Public Utilities
We welcome you as a customer of the Blanchard Municipal Improvement Authority and would like to acquaint you with some of the policies and procedures of the Utility Department.
For after hours assistance, please contact the City's Communications Center and they will dispatch city crews.
The Utilities Customer Service is responsible for processing new connects, disconnect requests, transfers, balance inquiry, payment extensions and agreements, leak adjustments, insufficient checks, new meter taps, and construction portable water meters. We also answer all customer service calls related to billing on behalf of Waste Connections questions.
For All New Customers
All customers requesting new service must fill out a Utility Application Form and bring it to City Hall during normal business hours before an account is created. Please attach two (2) forms of I.D. One of which should be in the form of a valid state or federal government issued identification card, such as a state issued driver's license, state issued identification card, a U.S. government issued passport or visa, or a U.S. military identification card, all of which must contain a photograph of the customer AND one other form which may be a birth certificate, voter registration card, or Native American tribal document.
A deposit that is refundable is required when the account is finalized.
All customers transferring from one house (served by Blanchard utilities) to another (served by Blanchard utilities) is required to fill out the Transfer/Update Form (see DOC CENTER) and bring one form of I.D. containing a photograph of the customer to City Hall.
If you are renting, a copy of your lease agreement or rental receipt from your landlord must be provided. New homeowners will need the settlement statement or closing documents for the property.
Applications submitted before noon will have utility services established the same day, and applications submitted before 4.30 p.m. will have services established the next business day.
Trash and Recycle Services
The City provides solid waste collections on a weekly basis (See Map) and recycling services every other week (See Calendar) by current contract with Waste Connections. Residential trash should be bagged and set at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your normal day of service (no more than 24 hours before). We also provide bulky trash pick-up on Fridays (See Map for your day).
Payment options for utility bills:
You may (1) pay in person at Blanchard City Hall (122 N Main Street) during normal business hours; (2) pay after hours at City Hall at the night depository located on the east side of the rear parking lot; (3) click on Pay Online; (4) enroll in Auto Bank Draft for your bill to be automatically taken from your checking account on your due date; Or (6) if you pay by mail be sure to allow enough time for your payment to reach us before your due date. It is suggested that you not mail your utility payment once you have received the Late Notice Reminder of possible disconnection, but pay at City Hall either in person or in the night depository box.
